Impactful Canine

Board & Train is for focused obedience work. We do not accept dogs with reactivity or aggression into this program. For those concerns, contact us about a private behavior evaluation.

Puppy Board & Train focuses on potty training, crate training and basic obedience foundations. Our obedience Board & Train is for dogs needing everyday skills, not behavior modification.

Your dog practices with a trainer during the stay, building everyday obedience skills through structured practice. You learn the cues and routines to continue at home. Progress varies with the dog and owner follow-through.

We build trust before we ask for anything hard. Young puppies learn through rewards and play, without corrections. For older dogs, the approach depends on the individual dog, their understanding, and their readiness. Your dog learns to work because it wants to work with the handler. When a correction is appropriate for an older dog, we use it ethically and sparingly, with as little aversion as possible. From there it's daily structure and real-world exposure, proofed in real environments, not just a training room. Environmental learning is part of training for every dog. During Board & Train, your dog lives with the trainer and accompanies them to classes and appropriate real-world settings to practice skills beyond the home. Real change takes time, so programs typically run two to five weeks; we won't rush it.

Board & Train includes one one-on-one session for each week of training, plus the drop-off session. A three-week stay includes four sessions in total, including drop-off; a four-week stay includes five.
