Most training sells obedience. Obedience is the output, not the work. What actually changes a dog is teaching it that pressure means opportunity rather than threat — and a dog who understands that holds together in situations nobody trained it for. Once the mindset is right, we build leash proficiency and advanced obedience with implied stays, and proof all of it through distance, distraction, and duration. Light behavior work — nipping, air snapping, reactivity on leash — gets handled here too.
Every dog meets pressure eventually. What decides the outcome is what the dog has learned pressure means. Taught right, it becomes the cue that something good is available if the dog stays in the game.
An aroused dog cannot learn, and no reward reaches them — not food, not toys, not praise. Calm is not the absence of drive. Calm is the state where drive becomes usable.
We talk through what your dog does now, what you want changed, and whether this program is the right fit. No obligation, and TJ will tell you straight if something else suits you better.
Every dog is different. We build the program around your dog and the goals you actually care about — if competition heeling is not what you need, we do not spend time on it.
The part most training skips. You learn the commands, the timing, and the structure, because a trained dog with an untrained handler regresses. This is where off-leash capability becomes off-leash reliability — or does not.
